Adult Development Day Treatment

Adult Developmental Day Treatment (ADDT) offers assessments, as well as habilitative, supervised living, prevocational, therapeutic, and educational services provided by a licensed adult day treatment clinic.

In order to receive ADDT services, an individual must:

  • Must have Medicaid.

  • Must have a developmental disability diagnosis that originated before the age of 22.

  • Must be either 21 and older or between 18-21 years of age with a diploma or certificate of completion.

  • Must have proven medical necessity for ADDT services, meaning that a physician must identify the individual’s medical needs or a medical or developmental diagnosis.

  • Must have a written prescription from a physician.

  • Must receive services as written in an individual program plan (IPP).

Each client who enters the ADDT Program will have a written individual program plan (IPP) developed from evaluations to improve or maintain the client’s condition. Services provided must be based on the goals and objectives of the client’s IPP.

  • Adult habilitative services encompass instruction in areas of cognition, communication, social/emotional, motor, and adaptive skills, including self-care. These services may also reinforce skills learned and practiced in occupational, physical, or speech therapy.

  • Prevocational services are designed to prepare clients for employment. This includes goals such as promoting compliance, task completion, problem-solving, and ensuring safety.
